tiny striped socks for the last time

Trudging slowly over wet sand, back to the bench where your clothes were stolen

Suddenly it’s 7 pm and I feel like I’ve wasted my Saturday. Even though I’ve finished a book, cleaned up the kitchen and living room, cleaned the fish, did some laundry and had lunch out. It still feels wasted. I hate that feeling. I have a desk full of things I need to either acknowledge the receipt of, take pictures of or both. I have some letters I need to write and some bills that need to be paid. I don’t want to do any of those things.

Instead I’ve been procrastinating online. Mostly on Flickr. But on this website as well. So far this one is my favorite. I love that those men found some adult ugly pants to replace their ugly kid pants. I have a few of my own that I think would be hysterical to recreate. Specifically these:

It’s a really bad idea to read things like this when shark week is only a week away.  It’s makes the crying so much worse.

random updates

Posted in life is not whatnot, randomness by Julie on April 29th, 2008
  • I am so tired today. I think I could sleep for days given the chance.
  • I am slightly less stressed about my mom, but only slightly. She’s still in Lubbock. She finally had the biopsy today. Fuck around much University Medical Center? Hopefully she will be able to fly back to CA soon.
  • I am still kind of obsessed with granola. I can’t eat my yogurt any other way now. I really think I have to try and make some soon.
  • I kinda sorta want this shirt. But I am sort of afraid of their sizing because and also of wearing t shirts with prints because my boobs make everything look really distorted.
  • It’s only been 3 days and I already miss the 365 project.
  • The trees in the backyard have been identified as poplar trees. I am now allergic to poplar trees. I am so fucking tired of allergies. I realize it could be worse and has been before but I am a whiner.
  • I’ve been in a baking mood lately. I’ve made pizza and cake so far. Even though it was lazy cake. (From a mix.) Now I have big pile of bananas I want to do something with. I wish I could subsist off of baked goods.

Tired

Posted in flickr, life with sparky by Julie on April 22nd, 2008

That pretty much sums up everything right now.  My parents have been here since Thursday and we have been doing stuff.
Friday we drove to Albuquerque.  We drove up to Central and took some pictures at the Frontier Restaurant. Then we ate lunch,  went to some museums and walked around Old Town.    My set on Flickr is here.

On Saturday Eric took us on the Southern NM Road Trip.  We went to a Rock Shop in Bingham, NM that had the friendliest cat ever.  He/she walked up to me and sat on my feet. It was a very sweet kitty.  We also visited the Valley of Fire, The Smokey Bear Museum/Park, The NM Museum of Space History, White Sands and had dinner in Las Cruces.   My set on Flickr is here.

Sunday we toured the VLA courtesy of Eric’s dad. (He used to work there.)  Sunday evening we had dinner at Eric’s parent’s house.  Set on Flickr.

My parents were supposed to head to Carlsbad Caverns this morning but they changed their plans because my mom got sick.  So today I worked and then we all went out to dinner.  Tomorrow I have the day off, which is why I am up so late now.  No clue what we are doing yet.
